i do not think 63 would make your cigars crack, a lot of folks think lower humidity is better for long term storage,i think it is more likely to be swings in humidity that made them crack,i have also had a behike "burst" on me and i konw it had just landed so i put i down to humidity swing, very f....g annoying

From all this you can take away the knowledge that your setup has been scrutinised under a microscope and you are able to sleep easy now

ANSWER: WHY CIGAR CRACKED...
Hi All,
Sorry to keep harping on about this one,
but I think I know why my Behike cracked the other week...
Answer:
Basically, I have a digital and analogue hygro, both in the humi together.
They never read the same, but I always put my trust in the digital hygro (Caliber III).
I carried out a salt test on the analogue hygro, and it came out 100% spot on!
This morning after putting the analogue hygro back in the humi, I compared the two hygro's together.
Well... the digital hygro is out by +4% on the humidity reading compared to the analogue...
My digi humidity readings of late have been around the 67% mark.
When in fact the REAL humidity level has been 63%. A little on the dry side...
I'm guessing when I bought the Behikes and stored them in my humi, the wrapper initially dried out at a faster rate than the inside of the cigar,
thus causing the cigar to crack when I fired it up approx 2 weeks after receiving.
Anyway, also to note, I smoked another Behike yesterday (I dry boxed it from the night before)
and I'm happy to say that it smoked BEAUTIFULLY the draw was free and the whole experience: gorgeous.
Many thanks for all of your input.
Regards,
