How can you judge colour from a photo without a real box sitting next to it for comparison..... There are simply too many variables (Camera, Monitor, Lighting etc. etc.) to make any kind of claim about colour without a direct comparison.
What puts me off is the loose ribbon and the misaligned labels. Ive bought a few boxes of Siglo3 over the years and never seen them that loose or messed up.
If you could tell what they're actually meant to be? I think they're Siglo 1 by the proportions and ribbon ... CoRo is plain ribbon I think ... but label positioning doesn't seem to bother the Cubans ... position of the Tainos head on lid ????
yeah box label being squint is normal for cuba I have had plenty like that and they came from LCDH or other good sources, even had one with the seal applied on the top of box and transit seal still showing but since I know they are from kosher sources this is not a worry. Anything on craiglist will be fake no matter how good it looks and I would never in my wildest dream consider buying anything from there or ebay/gumtree
Looks ok to me at 1st glance... Show me some higher res pics Jeremy
Box and liner look OK. Diagonal sticker looks acceptable. Seal and Death sticker are wrongly positioned. Can't see enough detail in the ribbon, bands and cigars to make a decision .... the bands should align a bit better, but transit can often move them.
Craigs List? Buyer Beware ..... it's where a lot of fakes brought back from Cuba end up. I wouldn't buy.
The only visible thing wrong with that box from those photos is sticker placement. Which from looking at other boxes should be oriented mostly On the side of the box not the lid.

Read number 2. Past the giant indent, gents! The stickers aren't in the right place: they break lengthwise when you open the box. They're Only supposed to break widthwise along the opening of the box on the side
Looks like it might even trick the rest of us here to think they're real
Hi Gents,
whilst on my daily search for classified ads for cheap cigars, i came across a box that i was gonna buy. Looks quite authentic with all the stickers looking real in the picture.
I was gonna ask him what kid of bag he got the box of cigars in (the famous Duty Free or LCDH one) as well as the box code. But stopped myself short.
Take a looksies and tel me what's wrong with the three pictures. Too lazy to search it up? ugh.. fine: Temp1.jpg Temp2.jpg Temp3.jpg
Tell me what's wrong with it (it's actually pretty difficult!)
1. Box colour is a TAD too light for Cohiba cabinets.
2. The stickers are just a wee bit off. normally, the green "dollar bill" stickers and MINSAP stickers wouldn't split when the box opens up like in picture number 2. It should remain as one dollar bill until you tamper with the sticker (shouldn't happen when simply opening the box).
The same goes with the MINSAP sticker: shouldn't break.
If you're curious to what a real box comparison looks like, here's an actual real ad for a box of Siglo IIs: http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/clt/4303456774.html
He knows what he's doing when he takes a picture of the Habanos.com sticker thing. For $330, that's too expensive for me. I've seen this ad fall from $400 to now $330 and hope that he'll drop it even further.
Back on topic. These fake boxes are really getting more and more pro. If these stickers were placed on by someone who actually knew what they were doing, the only thing that would give these away would be the box colour.. And that's very surprising.
I really miss the days where fake cigars used to ONLY be esplendidos and maduro 5s. those boxes where so easy to tell whether or not they're fake.. These would've probably tricked me if it was my 2nd or 3rd box buy!!
DISCLAIMER: Now, keep in mind that i take the chance of buying possible fakes on Craigslist and Kijiji. But after the 15th+ box (lost track somewhere), you basically get a sixth sense on what is real and what isn't. Especially that "dollar bill" sticker.
I still highly recommend staying away from local classified ads despite the fact that i do it.
