I keep everything at 69% I've never had any mould but I have had uneven burn on almost everything at some time. I find the flavours are better at high humidities and the smoke seems smoother but wonder if the higher humidity could be causing uneven burning or if that's just my lack of knowledge in buying well.

Hi and welcome Kaboom, pop over to the newbie greets thread and introduce yourself, we're all obsessive BOTL's here

Regards humidity, I've tried low 60's through to 70%, higher than 68% I find you get much more uneven burn and requires more touching up/the odd relight, low 60's I've had the odd delicate wrapper start to unravel (Fuente's being the prime brand that seem to do it). So 65-66% for me.

Been keeping them right around 70 until recently, when i just used to buy the cigars that tempted me at the tobacconist's, lit them up and enjoyed them.

Now that the internet has turned me into an obsessive, paranoid BOTL i'm testing the waters with 65% to see if there's any improvement, or any change at all! Had no problems with 70% other than the occasional tight draw but I blame construction rather than humidity for that.

PS: Having just re-read the title of this thread, my first thought was "KY Sir?" but then I am still on Duty.

Amigo, it's ALL in your head. But I agree....selecting a puro straight from the box, cutting or punching with your finest unit and sparking up with your favorite lighter all add to the fullest enjoyment of the ritual.

Personally I wouldn't smoke anything that didn't come from a humidor with a precise humidity of 67.458% or without a luminous flux of 0.47 or which didn't set my geiger counter screaming like banshee .... how could you possibly enjoy smoking anything other than?
