An interesting thread. I can agree with many comments, a like James who only smokes Cubans, 99% of my smokes are too. James says it one way to limit your collection & in general I agree. I am sure there are decent NC's out there but as I only smoke a couple a week, I just haven't the time or the incentive ie I like most Havanas, to try a large selection of NC's, which after all often cost similar or more than similar Hanvanas.
I think if you spent six months smoking fine vintage stock (like my recent buy of AdeUK's stash), you would find more ordinary cigars rather humdrum. This is one reason I have always mixed my smokes & rarely have more than two or three grand smokes in a row. I guess it helps I enjoy from Behike (donated by a generous pal) to RG Pan Extra at E1.5per stick!
As RobustoCH said, we should be chosing the cigar to match the occasion, the time available & then what is of suitable age in our collection. c10cko, said quality over quantity, rather have one humi filled with excelelnt cigars than two with average sticks. I would agree with this up to apoint. Better than one excellently filled humi is to have two ----- or three & therefore hold sufficent stock to allow aging without the additional cost of buying them aged.

I only smoke Cuban. Always have. It's one way of focusing your collection... Just too much choice otherwise.

I agree. Quality over quantity, not expensive over cheap!
