Punch as many of mine as possible. So much cleaner IMO. Plus you can always carry a punch on a key ring.

I McGuyver'd a half decent punch yesterday in a JP Cremas with nothing but a pocket knife, steady hands and sheer determination

I find punching more forgiving and thus is my go to method. Plus my cheapass punches seem better than my cheapass cutter. Have a 6mm (well two with the one on my lighter) and an 8mm and generally use the former. Not had a really fat stick in a while though so maybe that will change.

Also remember in the words of the late, great Scotty ' licky licky then sticky sticky'.

I recently discovered punches. I like it for bigger ring gauge sticks as I think it makes the draw and mouth feel much better. Smaller stuff I'm happy to straight cut.

I find by punching full flavoured cigars like partagas and bolivar by the second third onwards the moke starts to get realy full on.

Same as you, I used to cut. Now I punch every time. Much more control.

I have been used to cutting up to the shoulder with a Xikar Xi3 but this has me questioning if I will use it much going forward...!

I probably am the last person to the party....?!

How many people punch their cigars?
Yes I remember a similar feeling of elation when I first discovered punch/pierce method. Although do still occasionally cut when needed

I only punch. Except with pigtails where I twist then punch. Piramide tips are exempt as well, unfortunately.

End of my lighter has a punch. Why would I carry around a cutter if that was the case!?

Me too. I punch first, ask questions.....errr, use a cutter later.

    But that's just me!

I punch mine if the occasion really calls for it, I never punch a torpedo or slim RG though.
