Just bought a pack of Cohiba Minis, inspired by this thread. They are cigarette sized and a reasomably tasty smoke. Nothing like the 'real thing' but not far off considering the trade in terms of time.

I assuming you mean cigarette tin. I doubt a panatelas (Laguito 3) would fit, being too long at 4.5" and having a 36 RG. The Cohiba is Laguito 3 (and expensive and really needs a few years), the PL isn't a true small Panatelas it's a Vegueritos at 5" x 36 RG. The only other Laguito 3 is the Rafael Gonzalez Cigaritos.

For what you want, something for a night out, the Cohiba could work as they come in 5. But, cheaper, smaller and a good smoke the RyJ Petit Julieta (Entractos at 3.9" x 30 RG) also come in 5 pack. Other Entractos are the ERdM Demi Tasse and La Hoyo du Marie, unfortunately these no longer come in 5s.

I think the weakness in your plan is the tin. A small cigar case might be what you really need.

I would also argue, that a cigarette can be smoked pretty quickly, if you don't want to be left outside on your ownsome, a Mini or Club might be better. A Partagas Mini x 10 tin costs around ?6, they're fine, and on a boozy night out with mates, how much attention are you really going to pay a cigar?

That makes so much more sense now you say tin.
The RyJ 5 pack is a ggod shout and one I have used myself a few times on nights out when first making the transition to cigars. I have also used th HUHC 5 Tin which is good. Like stated tho none compare in smoking time to the cig smokers. I have tried mini and club stuff and found it to be terrible tasting.
