So joking aside Geoff when I told my fantastic wife of 34 years she was astounded. A reality check is definitely needed I'm afraid. I deal with anti social behaviour all the time and boilers and smoking at a range of 40m doesn't even register on the scale.

I'd suggest you start getting quotes for a very large garden cabin complete with plumbing for a shower room and top quality filtered air extraction,......then show your wife the quotes.
When she objects to the 30k plus price tag suggest option two
'We stop being so concerned what the bloody neighbours think and save 30k'

Guessing you're not married [emoji6] My wife is excellent and makes me toasties when I get in at 5am, but she worries so much about what the neighbours think. She physically took my cigars from me last time! I'm 3 times her size but yeah...

Easy, go to the neighbours and explain that you enjoy a cigar every now and then. Explain that you'd understand if the smell can bother them and ask them to let you know if they notice and mind, so you can move to another spot. Problem solved... [emoji5]

The wife asked the neighbours the other day if they could hear our boiler late at night. They said 'yes I guess a little', and since then I'm now not allowed to shower past 10.30pm. So, no, but thanks for the suggestion!

My wife has decided that, because the neighbour closed their window, once, the other day whilst I was smoking, that I am to no longer smoke in our garden lest it offends them. Our garden isn't small - I'm 40m from said window.

So, should I leave her?
