Yes, I have filled my boxes that weren't full with bubble wrap, perfect solution.

I would say French Customs we slack, even before Duty Free's finished between Europe & us, guess on the basis, we were all always the most exoensive place to buy tobacco or alcohol, so who would take any from 🇬🇧 to 🇫🇷?

However, just after the New Year, I would suggest a new broom sweeps clean & they'll be searching as many as possible just to bug😜er us as much as possible, for leaving their idea of a haopy 🇪🇺 family. So if you have somewhere to store them over there, a couple of runs before hand would more than pay for themselves.

Mitch told me to allow £3 per robusto, more for larger cigars, less for smaller. So start with your largest cigars. Presumably, you'll get charged less than I will, especially with our recently announced increase in tax but annoying enough, when have have already paid the tax some where.

    Finally found your house... congratulation.

Just stuff the empty boxes with bubble wrap...should be secure enough.

Bubble wrap padding out boxes is how ive received part boxes, makes sense. It doesnt draw humidity and is cushioning. Cant think of a more env friendly packaging...

I don’t have any experience in moving cigars, but I guess all of us have experience sending around some sticks.

In the case of full boxes, I wouldn’t worry that much as you said yourself. In case you move half empty boxes, I always use some bubble wrap and other plastics (I know, environment) in order to ensure foots are protected and the cigars can’t move around in the boxes. Never used paper really.

Maybe Simon can help, think he started moving boxes from Belgium to UK

    Moving Cigars

Next year our time has come and we'll leave the British Isles (probably for good). We'll move north, to Germany, which is a 12h drive and a ferry away. The move will likely be done by a professional company.

However, I wondered, how to best protect my cigars, without bubble wrapping them. I have a scubador with boxes in them. Most boxes are not packed, but half empty. So the cigars would be tossed around. I wondered if I should fill the boxes with paper, the same as you get in an amazon delivery. But that made me worry that the paper might soak up humidity, drying the cigars up in the process etc...

Does anybody have experience in moving with cigars? Any tips?
Working...
