If you fancy it, I'd recommend a look round Cigars Review and reading the reviews there. Probably best to choose the petit corona or robusto size first.

I started with the Romeo y Julieta brand, No. 3 Tubed, very nice and mild cigars. A perfect introduction to cubans imho

I would start with what I started with, and H.Uppman junior Corona, I think it's a good place to start because it gives you a really good bench mark, it's not perfect but for the money it's excellent, I would highly recommend it!

PS. And welcome to the club - I've rarely met a cigar smoker I've been unable to strike up a pleasant conversation with.

My standard response to the request for a beginner's suggestion is to recommend the El Rey del Mundo Petit Corona. An excellent light cigar, with mild to medium flavours. Every time I have one I remember why the made me fall in love with this pastime.
Here are my thoughts of the ERdM PC from last year, I really should review it again now that I have another year of cigars under my belt. Still a wonderful cigar.

Have a look at cgars site and look at the beginners humidor which comes with a few cigars and accessories

MC4?
I would strongly suggest the Montecristo No4 or Por Laranaga Petite Corona a starting point due to them both being nice mild little smokes.

+1
However when you gain enough posts you can also trade with other members here and you can pick up some nice cigars. The key is to try different cigars, as simple as it sounds, and DON'T give up if you don't like one or two move on and I'm sure you'll find others you love!
Regards.

Don't do it , it's like Hotel California!
Seriously - welcome in.
You could of course read all the replies, recommendations & reviews on here, but there's nothing like hands on experience with a suitable sampler to get started.
For that you could do a lot worse than put your post in an email to, for example sales@cgars.co.uk, the forum sponsor (but other uk internet sellers are available such as JJ Fox) or walk into a Bricks & Mortar store & put the question orally.
Give them a budget to work to & I'm confident any one of them will come up with a tasty sampler to tingle your taste-buds and give you a good start - after all, they have a vested interest in making sure you're happy with their choice and have all the necessary accoutrements.
With a cigar or two under your belt, the various witterings on here should make a lot more sense to you.
