they're a real connoisseurs cigar imo, not quite as "easy" a size as a robusto or larger gauge

I like to smoke them now and them, but I must admit to not buying any for a long time... I like a good big ring gauge..

I've never tried one for some reason, I'm not a massive Cohiba fan but would be quite open to trying the Trini.
I think, rightly or wrongly, I have a mental link between RG and smoke volume. I like to take fairly big draws with a lot of smoke to coat my mouth with flavour whereas I imagine having to monitor my smoking with a lancero as to not overheat it.

I like a well made Lancero. I think they got bad press for a while because of draw problems... someone wiser than me will be able to negate/substantiate that I'm sure.
... and they're not a fashionable look. Which seems a little bizarre to me as I could've sworn smoking was well old hat and prided itself on being on an eccentric limb! lol

Lanceros - Why not?
The recent thread about Cohiba and a recent trip to Cuba has got me thinking.
I have to say that when I have the time a Lancero is my favourite cigar. The Cohiba is great, the gold banded Trinidad Fundadores is phenomenal and as Canadian Mike mentioned the Lanceros rolled by his friend at the Commodoro Hotel in Havana is very special indeed.
So why is it that this great puro is so unpopular?
For me it's the perfect cigar, I admit unlike our correspondent from deepest Kent, I do not enjoy being 'beaten up by a cigar' and the size and strength of a Lancero suits me to a T (when I have the time).
So thought people out there in UK Cigar Forum land...why are Lanceros regarded by so many as yesterdays cigar?
