Rupert, I still have the two that you sent me way back when you got them. I do look forward to smoking them and this has helped confirm that I'm doing the right thing waiting. [emoji106]🏻

You said it. Those larger cigars have a fantastic ageing potential most of the time. Much like the Montecristo Sublimes / Grand Edmundos that you've smoked in the past, these would probably come around much better as time goes on. Rest patient and reap what you sow down the lines!

Keep 'em up, sludgehammer! I wish I had the time to review cigars now...

Sterling work..
Great job..!!

Only recently got around to trying one of these myself.. and had pretty much an identical experience.

Agree about the unbalanced nature of the final third, (Not uncommon with dealing with young Partagas sticks).
As you say, 2 to 3 years of aging should work wonders.

I'll probably get a box or two.. simply because it's my favorite brand, and a bit of a novelty.. but truthfully.. they'll never replace the skinnier ring gauge variations in my affections..!
(Slopes off to fire up a Serie du connaisseur).

Cheers El Cat

Another excellent review Rupert and I too found it not to be a typical Partagas and much milder than expected. I smoked one at Ajay's BBQ last summer and didn't expect it to suit the occasion as well as it did - a lovely smoke![emoji3]

Thanks for the reply Sludgie.
I find that too much pepper can spoil a cigar at times
