I kept buying vintage boxes and being very disillusioned to the point that I nearly packed the whole thing in.....then a box of Upmann #2 from 2007 changed my mind and I haven't looked back
Spot on, senor Stevielad, with the exception of your time frame. I have found that the quality of Habana puros began improving in mid 2002 and have continued to improve significantly since then.

I happen to have a few Bolivar Royal Coronas left from a 2002 box. I almost returned them because the wrappers have a greenish tint rather than the reddish-brown they are famous for.

Reason for not returning them - they taste wonderful and have improved quite a bit over time. In fact, they are superior to boxes I have bought since.

Names TJ, TJCoro, and I love aged puros.

There's been a few cigars that I was initially indifferent towards for whatever reason but have loved when I re-tried them...the most obvious one that springs to mind is the Trinidad Reyes

Once again, Senor Stevieboy, you speak the truth in your usual most gracious, diplomatic manner...unlike Larryboy who sometimes speaks with forked tongue. But I digress.

Yes, I too have experienced puros that initially did not impress but, given time, grew into a fabulous smokes. And I have read many good thing about the BBF, but never shared in that experience.

So perhaps I was a little to quick to 'dis' the BFF (although the ones I smoked were from a box dated Oct 2004, two of which are resting comfortably in my Back of the Rack aging collection.)

So, based on your advice, and yours alone, I will give the BBF a second go sometime and report my findings here, on this most fabulous forum.

Names TJ, TJCoro, and senor Stevielad often has to play ying to my yang.

Gee Wiz, senor Larry. You can read all about the Bolivar Royal Corona in CA magazine - it was only CA's Cigar of the Year in 2006.

I would steer clear of the Belicosos Finos, however....not a big fan.

Names TJ, TJCoro, and I praise the pleasures of the Bolivar puros all the time on this forum

I Love Boli's, the BBF is one of my favourites, along with the Coronas Gigantes, preferably from a cab, and aged. Also the RC, a great robusto, not forgetting the Inmensas and the Lonsdales.

BOLIVAR LEGENDARIOS EDICION REGIONAL, The new release from Bolivar, available only for the Swiss market and in very limited quantities. This is a Dobles size cigar (same as the Trinidad Robusto Extra). A bit young but very promising.

    Hmmmm...You want??
