Yes that too, infact I was told that a few blenders also sent out all the PC's for all brands with the same blend in 2000, one of the blenders left with the blend information for PC's.... this was corrected though and you will be hard pushed to find PC's from that year still around, I was chatting to one of the guys in the Partagas factory about the draw machine which was quite interesting, you can get to see this on the factory tour.

Thank you everyone for their comments. I think I'll pick up a couple of singles and see how they are. I want to get some larger cigars for when I have a bit more time

Ok...what happened in those years?

A big increase in production around that time ment a lot of new rollers.... and many of the cigars from that period are plugged, can be a bit hit and miss. After that time the factorys introduced a machine to test the draw, although I've had many recent SCDH that have been very tight, so as with many things.... you can get a friday afternoon box even today.

Some BOTL have had good boxes from this period and some a fully plugged box, as the risk is greater the cost is normally a little better, get your draw poker ready though... just incase.

I have a Half Box left, from 2001, and they are just wonderful, only the bottom rung left Doh !

It's a very good cigar but you must avoid absolutely those from 1999, 2000 and 2001, specially if they're on sale/discounted?

On the other hand: I have a box from 1999 and all the cigars have been very good so far.
My 1997 box has only 8 smokes left so I'm rationing all my Punch Churchills until I can buy another 25 to keep the aging cycle going.
