Have to agree with the Scottish one, maduros & Monte's are not a natural match.

now i'm just genuinely curious to see how it tastes. like most disasters, i'm curious to how bad it is and what ended it all......

but ah well. Gars can't ship to Canada anyways so i guess that's a lost dream

Well yes I did but I wouldn't pay ?25 for another, ?15 sure. It would be interesting to see how they have aged after all. Have to agree with the Scottish one, maduros & Monte's are not a natural match.

and most others haven't had em in a while. maybe i'll just pick up 2, toss up a review, pen it down in my notes, and just forget about them forever.
we'll see how mitch responds to some of my questions about others i'm going for.

Haven't tried one since '09 ...pretty disastrous effort from Montecristo. IMHO the Maduro wrapper completely overwhelms the finer aspects of the Monte marca... ?25 to retry? not a chance!

They were on offer as (I guess) a lot of stock around in the UK. Almost half original retail (?200ish for box of 10).

I had one last Saturday and age hadn't improved them any. Fairly mehhh tbh. Save your cash and get Monte PE instead

I had a box of these but moved them on as they were unbalanced to me. That was c a couple of years ago so they might have come round since then.

Nb - I got the box uk retail at about ?125 from JJF on an offer a couple of years ago. There were loads of these about a few years ago.

Always possible they have come round and I made a mistake.

Hi Jeremy, I think the reviews listed on thast page sum it it. I enjoyed one 14/08/07, gave it 87pts, inc 9/10 for value (mind you it was ?11 then). Described in my notes as " Decent Monte, wee bit expensive but aged well. Extra Flav Monte, nice presentation.

I'm always a fan of the Montecristo line. Never too bad and always consistent. and fantastic p only real disappointment i've had was the Sublimes 08 (which i'll revisit ONE day ) and any #2 under 3 YO. how do you mates feel about the D though? (i've never really had one either)

think $40 isn't too bad. i'm also working on getting a few Montecristo Robusto Anniversarios for around 50% more. so should i just save up and get more of those Anni Robustos instead of these Ds?? it's a real montecristo week!!
