So that's more about 'value' vs quality. If money were no barrier to trying the 'creme de la creme' then I suspect almost all here would buy for sure... curiosity would eat away as money was no barrier and the incremental value of a grand vs ?20-60 for a solid quality stick would be different too. I would certainly try them. That said, I would still try to find a better deal - cant squash that instinct with the addition of extra money!!!

But I agree with some of the comments that there are a few folk on FB/ Insta that seem to relish in paying over the odds for sticks that had they bought smarter a year or two earlier would have cost them substantively less. I am sure in time we might all be tempted to open our collections and liberate the odd box (LE/RE in particular), if there is a demand from such folk, at an advantageous price so we can invest in the 'next' RE/LE! And please note, I am not suggesting anyone here would engage in the obvious gouging that goes on in some of the FB groups.

A good example would be the SLR RE Espania Tesoro ... its a stick that already divides opinion. Some say it's a stinker, others seem to like it a lot. I had two boxes... smoke about half of a box... and found them OK. Not stunning, but pleasant enough and not bad value at the launch price. I think (hope) with a bit of time they will soften round the edges and open up a touch. They are now trading at considerably higher prices than the original ticket price, and I certainly wouldn't buy them. The 'value' isnt there for me.

I am one of the folk that the old saying fits; if you have to ask the price you cant afford it! And I am rather glad I cant afford to drop a G on a single stick - madness!!! And I thought buying a box of Talisman at launch price was off the chain and still cant quite believe that I did...

Instagram is amusing. A post on there saying they are worth every penny and that he needs to get more! Different world!

Shoes/Clothes/Food are all luxuries, Cigars on the other hand are quite essential [though I'd take 5 boxes of regular production cigars over one smoke, but again I am no where near the target market]

Quite possibly they've seen the reaction here; but then we're not their target market (unless there are any particularly well-healed BOTL who are keeping quiet...).

My wife being a member of that majority! To be honest I'd struggle to overcome my working class upbringing and spend that much money on one cigar even if I won the lottery big time. I have friends who won the lottery and apart from enjoying a nicer life style they haven't changed much at all. Still wait to shop in the sales etc.

Nice friend you have! Now, as someone who has smoked one, if a grand is too much what would you consider a reasonable price?

I don’t care how they are rolled to be honest, simply too fat for me to enjoy.

Probably the best cigar I?ve ever smoked fresh. This is what I wish Cohiba Limitada were like but sadly those are always disappointing for me. Majestuosos are epic, if you get the chance to smoke one do it. Worth the money even at the price imo.
