I tried some barcodes from 3 packs I bought a few months ago. Apparently I am a victim of fraud. But how recent must the bar code be for this to work?

I tried one from each online vendor i have purchased from and none of the bar codes are recognized as authentic. Maybe they're all fake. I thought I knew a bad cigar when I tasted one.

Maybe I've just gotten used to the taste of fake CCs.

Not seen the new barcode yet...!?!

Got a couple of the new LE's on order though, so these should have them on, shouldn't they...?

    Cheers, HabanoSy

A few of my recent boxes have had the code sliced off....the seal itself is a bit smaller too and made of shiny paper

What reigndrop said is exactly right, in regard as to why they're being removed.

The barcode is a fairly new thing.

For example, Pacific Cigar Company (Asian Distributor), razors off their barcodes before selling their product to 1001cubancigars, a Swiss vendor.

Remember that as a distributor, you're only suppose to sell your product to a specific region.
I also thought that, but, how would they get hold of said boxes to track them back to the source? Would they intercept them when they are shipping? If so, they can be easily tracked back.

It just seemed alittle strange to me, that a website comes out making it possible for us to verify our cigars by the barcode number and then they start taking off the barcode. Maybe I am just paranoid
