I took the plunge and tried mine last night, If i'm honest it found it was very very mild, and was certainly nothing like the partagas or charatan i had the other week, did'nt certainly have that peppery aftertaste.

Im not sure if it was the way i lighted it but it's burn was to put no finer point on it all to c0ck! ended up looking like a fountain pen rather than a cigar!

It would be weird to have a cheap stick in a relatively expensive glass tube though.

So glad I asked on here, I was about to throw ?20 down the pan on a box of 5 Cristales. Might order one and leave it in the humi for about 5 years and see if it gets any better

The tubes are plastic....never been glass to my knowledge.

The Christales was the worst.....worst ever.....cigar I have ever had.

I do not like Guantanameras at all. they're too mild to taste anything and are generally a bad smoke. very cheap though (you get what you pay for!)

Are they meant to be plastic or is it a case that I not only have a dodgy cigar but a fake one at that? I did get it from cgars.co.uk?

i might get one in the glass tube as a curio for my cabinet humi when its finished but thats about it.

As the website says, "It was deleted from Habanos portfolio in circa 2005."....that is, the brand was deleted....the company never "stopped".

The website also agrees it is still made...."Currently made by "Internacional Cubana de Tabacos S.A." under licence to Habanos SA"

A check of the Habanos SA website will show that Guantanamera is no longer listed as one of their brands. http://www.habanos.com/vitolario.aspx?lang=en

Either way, I don't think I'll be bothering. It's a bit naughty that some websites show the Guantanamera packaging with the Habanos band still on though.
