I've tried all 3 as a newbie myself. Personally, I'd rank them Especial, Epi.1 then Epi.2. Although the Especials I've had did have 4/5 years on them so that might be why (but they were consistently delicious). I just never got on with the Epi.2, having tried a few of them, they all seemed poorly constructed and the flavour wasnt really there. Epi.1 though, I do enjoy those, and I also prefer the Corona Gorda vitola that they come in.

In terms of Hoyo Epicures.. which is considered the better.. especiales, #1 or #2?

Cool I have a #2 I got last July.. plan on having that on my birthday later this month. I gather they are quite mild so especiales may be good. I know the #1 is longer than the others
It's an excellent day time smoke the Epi 1 & 2 but not so well suited to a post dinner cigar.
They're all great. The Especiales I think is a bit stronger than the other two.

Cheers guys all excellent suggestions. Tried a couple of the petite Corona size for both Punch & RA and impressed with them. Liking the RJ coronations wrapped in cedar also.
RASS, hoyo epicures and HUpman Magnums and partagas D4’s all on the list to get soon
As far as the Magnums go, the 50 is the best IMO, followed closely by the 46.

Some good recommendations already made I would definitely also agree with Ramon Allones Specially Selected and it's smaller version the short club corona. The Bolivar Belicoso is also superb. Punch Double Corona is another favourite of mine. Vegas Robaina Unicos, San Cristobal El Principe and La Fuerza. Hoyo Epicure no.1 and anything from Cuaba for something a bit more left field.
I would say try everything and keep an open mind and avoiding specials is definitely a good shout to deciding for yourself if you see any real value to them
Personally RASS BBF Trini Fundy, Wide Churchill, 898 if you can find and don’t be wary of the cheaper end especially earlier while you’re learning your own palate
Trinidad Media Luna and Vigia, Cohiba Medio Siglo, Bolivar Belicoso, Montecristo Linea Dumas, Romeo Wide and Short Churchills are some of my fave Cubans.
