    Hey Gav.
Nice one getting those old LPs.

I’m into my vinyl and currently running a Project Debut Carbon with the standard 2M red cart. Keep looking to upgrade to a bronze but haven’t pulled the trigger as yet.

Speakers are B&W CM62S via a Musical Paradise tube amp.

I’ve been into HiFi and AV for a while now and have dedicated setups for streaming and vinyl using a variety of amps and DACs but I’d say the most value for money I’ve ever got vs. hearing a notable change in sound signature is with the above tube amp. I upgraded to some Gold Lion KT88 tubes and the thing absolutely sings now. Best £450 I’ve ever spent and the ‘tube sound’ really is such a different experience to that of solid-state.

I’ve got all my old-mans vinyl from the 60s and have some gems in there incl. original Beatles, Stones etc... Most stuff I buy now is from local indys.

Since you mentioned Discogs, another great site imo is www.whosampled.com which can take you down a rabbit hole of original versions, cover versions, samples, drum breaks, aliases and associated artists.

I dj'ed at a festival in London one scorching hot summer where the afternoon sun hit the side of the stage where the decks were set up and was shining directly onto one of the decks. My records were literally warping on the turntable as they revolved. One of the sound crew was running around frantically trying to find a solution to rig a makeshift sun shield when the a passing cloud blocked out the sun out just enough to stop it happening for the remainder of my set [emoji41]

That's a blow, never had an issue with returns.

Vinyl is frustrating isn't it, some pressings are just plain awful, we bought a couple of Ludovico Einaudi records and I just can't listen to them as the surface noise is just terrible.

Spend a lot of money and it?s very easy to convince yourself something improves in non measurable ways!

I love 6music but I need to start listening at home, feel like there?s not been any new music in ages but then I?ve not listened to the radio cause I?ve not been in my car so I?d probably not have noticed!
