Indeed, well done England. I'd been really critical of all the hype that had been surrounding this ashes tour and up until this last match still wasn't totally convinced that the performance(s) had merited all the praise. Had many a heated argument with my Brother on this...

I'm very happy to admit I was wrong!

    Well done England!

I think that we may need another urn now, for the ashes of Aussie cricket!

I've watched England abroad against the West Indies in Barbados (rain affected draw) and Antigua (crushing defeat) in 1998, and then went to South Africa where I did amazingly see an England win at Pretoria in 2000 but that had some of the shine taken off it later when it emerged Hanse Cronje took a few quid to force the result!!!

Always wanted to go to the Ashes in Australia - just a shame I am somewhat financially embarassed at the moment!

Your friend is a lucky man!! Despite the Barmy Army being slightly moronic at times the experience of watching cricket abroad and meeting local cricket fans is a great one.

I have got a mate who retired in the summer and who has been in Oz with tickets for every day of every match, his retirement present to himself.

I just sent him a text:

    And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here

    Lucky B*stard!

I think you may have got it now!!

If anything 3-1 flatters the Aussies really. England were superior in every department, and as the commentators on Sky were saying the other night, if you were to pick a composite of the best XI from both sides you'd probably have Hussey and the rest from England.

Having grown up watching England getting many a spanking over the last 20 years it was a great moment for me watching England bring up the 600 last night!! Don't get to see it very often, so I'm really enjoying it right now. Looking forward to one final night of sleep deprivation tonight, and a celebratory cigar when we clinch the third innings victory of the series!!!

Is "prediction" the same as "wishful thinking" or even "lucky guess".
I predict 2 - 2 'cos the Aussies will have the hump now & we'll get too smart & big for our own boots.....
