    Hookmakers tales from the Humidor

I used to buy and sell the odd lot of wine in auctions in the past, so decided to try the online cigar auction for once.
Not at all as exiting as the real auction where you bid on premises, so I guess this was a ?been there, tried thi...? once in a lifetime experience. It?s pretty addictive though and you?ve got to be careful not to loose sight of what your limits are.
But I got myself a couple of nice smokes to strike off on my wishlist, but there are no bargains here.

Very nice. I was watch the auctions over here. But im too tight to spend the money. Lots of nice lots around though!

Those SLR look amazingly dark! Hope they smell and smoke accordingly!!!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I thought the auctions were for collectors not for people to buy then smoke.

Not for me - if you want to collect to collect or invest, you need to be able to go for the serious stuff, I buy to get some old stock to smoke, but as I said you would be very very lucky to pick up a bargain deal.

Indeed McDee, a good win there at the auction Henrrik. And I agree, not as fun or as user friendly as in the days of yore when we used to go to Boisdales & bid in person. If you didn't get the first bid you wanted, you could bid on something else. The current way, you have to assume you might win everything you bid on & that can get you into trouble!

I?ve taken to skinny?s, - lanceros and the sorts. A friend was in Florida this week and brought me a handful of goodies to try. The quality of these are more than awesome - really looking forward to try them out.

Uncle Scrooge has hit me. I will not try to count the amount spent on boxes I’ve received the last couple of months. But by the almighty have I gone tight: I simply WILL NOT spend 500 euros on a third humidor cabinet. No way

I just realize I am a hundred or so forum pages behind some of you ?oldies? and even worse, I haven?t shown off any acquisitions lately. Oh of course - I?m still short on space and still refuse to buy one more humidor.

so here are 2 little jewels I take pride in having acquired as of late. Place of acquisition for each box couldn?t be further away from each other in terms of time, space and expenditure

Henrik, I've got to say that you are the king of sourcing amazing cigars! Now that's a stellar addition!

If you want to get rid of a few I would be your man!
