Hi Max, Lovely photo of the parcel I sent, hope you get to enjoy them all. If you try to smoke the Cohiba & the H.Upmann on your birthday, I'd suggest having the H.U. after a good lunch & the Cohiba after a good dinner. The only problem with that might be the weather, with smoking in the garden so have brunch at 11:00 & dinner or a heavy snack at least 16:00, hopefully then, you'll be able to finish it before the temp drops too much to enjoy the flav's of the cigar. Looking fwd to seeing the pics of the day. If weather not great, I'd just smoke one of the pair & have a smaller first cigar, like the ERDM DT oe El Principle..

Good question... I've only smoked 2 cigars in one day on one occasion and it went well. I think I'll be alright as long as they are spaced out by a good 3-4 hours 😉👍🏻

You planning on lighting both of those up on the day? How do you find smoking 2 in a day? I need to leave a looong gap (normally a day) otherwise my taste is dulled massively

Planning to go away for the weekend to Newcastle and go for a meal and watch some NFL afterwards. However, all this going on, I’m not sure whether it’ll happen ☹️
At least I can have a smoke on or around the big day 👍

My BIL was given one by his good friend who's in the restaurant business. He gave it to me because I got him started on cigars and he's convinced he wouldn't appreciate it. Idiot that I am I declined it Think they were retailing over here at 100£ a stick at the time. He's still waiting for a special occasion.

Hopefully he finds an occasion soon... Or convince him his days of occasions are over and you have big one on the way 😉👍🏻

Yes... I'm thinking about this a lot more now. I want to try some more cigars and hopefully I'll be clearer on what I'll invest in. I need to give Montecristo another shot this week for example, it didn't do much for me the first time.

I suspect the first box purchase will happen in the next 2-3 months... Then you will have all officially dragged me down with you

Well observed! I definitely got lucky with these ones! A nice few to add to the list.

As for note taking, I do some basic note taking but I feel my ability to compare is improving with each cigar. Originally I didn't really know what' was a good cigar for me as I had no experiences to compare with. I currently use Evernote for my note taking, but I will be creating a review document using Google Sheets, I'll score each cigar on certain things, as well as a quick general review. It could be useful to share with other people for them to compare too! Potentially, multiple people could use the same template and we could link all the sheets, so for example you could search a specific box code to read trusted reviews from people you know before pulling the trigger on a new box...
