I drink wine most nights with my evening meal. I drink both red and white but not that keen on pink. Nearly always french, Italian takes 2nd place.

Enjoying this one. Subtle with depth to the flavour and went perfect with a baked Camembert & baguette, shared.

I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times…
Get YOUR HANDS ON a bottle of AGOSTON, 2009 Red, from Spain.
A mixture of cabernet & tempranillo.

Andrea Faccio Ajan Barbera d'Asti 2011

A lovely northern Italian red. Intense aroma - anise, sour cherries, and even a hint of lavender. Flavour profile was largely red fruits - sour cherry, redcurrants, and candied strawberry. Nicely acidic, with medium tannins. Mid-length finish. Cracking wine from the second grape of Piedmont.

I almost typed exactly those thoughts! Well selected (yet to have a bad wine from there), but like so much of M&S recently, a touch too much for what they are.

    mhmm…
my biggest gripe with M&S selections (of Red especially)
is that they are well over priced for what they deliver...

If you choose well, some lovely Chilean wines (had a couple of surprisingly good whites from Chile too). I always think that M&S is a good spot to pick up a well priced Chilean wine - well, it was a couple of years ago. They seem to have a good team of wine buyers.
