Popped to ASDA a little earlier and couldn't resist. 30 Year Old Tasgall half price ?25 and Bowmore 9 ?15, bargain

I tried the aldi one last night...Really enjoyed it...At at the price point can't go wrong...I think it was like ?17 for a decent whisky in my opinion.

One of the guys who works in a local whisky shop has said to me it's rumoured to come from the Lagavulin distillery, don't know if there's any truth behind the claim

Haven't tried either of these yet, but I have tried the speyside and the Highland from the aldi range, very decent for the price, a few of the guys on here have given the Islay a go and have enjoyed them.

All I remember of it was that it was sweet, it's the David Beckham advertised one I believe so clearly aimed at the more casual drinker. I might pick up a bottle if it's only ?15 though! I had in my head it was around ?40 a bottle, don't know where I got that idea from.

I think his original whisky is 35-40 I think but this is the newest one in the range.

It was quite light and floral sweet whisky...A nice easy to drink...For ?15 you really can't go wrong...Haven't opened the other one...But it was ?17 bottle from Aldi.

How's the Haig Shamz? The only time I've tried it was at an airport at 7 in the morning so I was barely awake, time doesn't apply at airports

If you like Highland Park, you should try Old Pulteney 12 y.o. It's a really nice dram.

Thanks [MENTION=13448813]SHAMZ84[/MENTION] I'll have a look. What are you drinking at the moment that's good? I prefer less peaty/smokey malts. Highland Park has just the right amount of those flavours for me, where as Laphroig I find too iodine-yfor my tastes.

I'm not a big whisky drinker either, but I got in a bottle of Springbank 10 year old to partner with some cigars over Christmas. Beautiful and smooth, and worked really well with the cigars.
