How do you store your whisky?

My parents have a walnut alcohol cabinet in their lounge, I've "made room" for my Johnnie Walker.

I store my collection on a dresser as its a decent size collection now. Indeed im full on that so i need to find another cabinet to store them on. I always get rid of the box and get the bottles on show. Nothing like seeing a bottle & its label to make you want to drink it!

In a cupboard in the kitchen in the tube it comes in, I don't have many bottles so I have no need for anything more. I keep the bottle in the tubes for safteys sake.

Mine's tucked away in the back of the kitchen cupboard. But I've only one bottle, so I guess it really isn't an issue.

I had all mine in a cupboard, in the tubes. Before that I had a shelf I put up just for the purpose. Worked out about 8 quid from IKEA for the shelf and three brackets.
They are all currently in a solvent box though...

Do you keep your whisky in the boxes/tubes they come in? At the moment I keep all of mine in the boxes/tubes, but it's taking up a whole lot of space in a small kitchen! In fact, it's pretty much made my kitchen trolley unusable! I've also got a couple of whiskies hidden away in a deep drawer, along with the gin and rum etc.
Ideally I'd like a space saving (and preferably cheap) way of displaying my 'little' collection (size is relative I suppose). How do you guys store your whisky? In a cupboard/drawer in the kitchen, a worksurface, a bookcase in the living room...
Ideally I'd love a proper drinks cabinet, but nowhere seems to do them anymore, and the couple it is possible to find are semi-bespoke and mightily expensive.
I would quite like one of those globe drinks stands though... is that wrong...?
As for storage, I mix it up - if I like the packaging (Bowmore Legend tube for example) then I keeep it in there. If I don't then I chuck the packaging away or pop it into a decanter.
Bottom line is that it's only packaging. It's the juice inside that matters

I keep my whisky in tubes and boxes when they come in them. Some of them are nice to look at so are worth keeping.
I always keep them upright. I can't remember where I read it but I am sure that keeping them upright is the recommeded way of storing bottles. I have seen corks dry out though so that might be wrong.
Some of my bottles are on display and some are in a cupboard as I don't have enough space to keep them all on display.
Any that I will keep for a while (either to sell later or just to keep) are in a dark cupboard in a room with a reasonably constant temperature.
The ones I have that are currently open are to hand.

I have my whiskys in my wine rack since we very rarely indulge in the grape.
