  • Facebook groups - are they worth it?

I’m feeling conflicted recently, I see more and more mention of FB groups on the forum. However I’m not a fan of Facebook and never have been, even before their recent privacy controversies.

I did have an account when I was younger but it’s been dormant for some time, maybe now is the time to make it live again but is it worth it?

How many of you guys use them and are they any good?

They're not bad at all, but not as good as UKCF IMO.

I find that many are just an extension of Instagram, people showing their COTD etc, but no real discussions, at least not in the groups I'm a part of.

Like you, I don't really do the social media thing, deleted mine a couple of years ago, but created a specific account to join the cigar groups etc.

      EDIT: Removed some information...

Maybe that’s a solution for me then, set up a new account specific for the groups.

Yup friends and family in my old profile and groups in the other. I have to say that it didn?t really work out that way as I?ve become truly great friends with many of my contacts from the groups I?m in and as such have added them to both.
I rarely log into my real FB profile these days[emoji23]

Also if you do start a new profile for groups please use your real name. I?m Tom Ware in my original profile and Thomas Ware in my groups one.

I’m convinced, can anyone get me in? I assume it’s like a secret club and I don’t know the handshake.

I like the sales groups even though I only purchased a single box on one of those. But I like to see how much a certain cigar sells for just in case I might want to move some of my stock. The other groups aren't very interesting except for drama including fake cigars on the US groups.
