    The Collection Grows

    I have been slowly trying to build up a decent collection over the last year with various cubans and non cubans joining the mix, finding out what I do and don't like...not found anything I haven't really liked yet - though I did get my ass handed to me by a Rocky Patel earlier in the summer!

    Joining today are two Partagas lusitanias - 2018 sticks so undecided whether to light one up soon and let one settle for a while or leave them both to sleep for a while, I didn't realise quite how big they were until I received them this morning.

      Indeed, the perfect solution, just allow up to 2hrs to smoke it, nothing worse than rushing the end of a fine cigar.

        On the getting your ass handed to you scenario. Preparation is normally key, make sure you have eaten enough, have plenty to drink on hand, don't be afraid to have a light snack while smoking... blasphemy to some people, but I sometimes like to have something slightly salty and otherwise bland like; plain crisps, pretzel pieces, nuts etc..

        Finally, take it slow and don't be afraid to ditch a cigar that is beyond enjoyable.

          Some swear by Coke & a Mars bar as an antidote to excessive nicotine which you can get from green full bodied cigars.

              I too are in the process of building my collection up and trying a variety of cigars. Nothing has blew my socks off yet tho, although I go favour the light to medium cigar.
              Just over a month now, and I've already filled my 50 cigar humidor!! Where did you get your humidor from, if you don't mind me asking?

                        I think the smoke one now save one policy shall be followed, will need to find the time now as 2 plus hours is hard to get to be able to fully enjoy the smoke, but I will find that time.
                        The humidor I have is a Germanus Cube - 70-100 count but thats for smaller sticks, I currently have around 56 sticks in there and it would struggle to take much more big stuff. Been great since I got it in April this year and buying direct from Germanus was a good deal.


                        As for my ass kicking, it was entirely down to no prep and poor work on my part, I only had a small amount of water and hadn't eaten much before with nothing sweet to hand when the nicotine overload got me, certainly a lesson learn't!
