  • Venice ? Early Nov.

I don't remember there being much of a selection in the local Tobac Shops last time I was there with don TJ. I always take me own to enjoy in one of the many fine open cafes when I visit Venice.

Well, Venice was rubbish for cigars. I found one shop with Cubans, but nothing unusual or RE and nothing anyone would have wanted brought back. Marco Polo airport was no better with some NC and packs and packs of JLP and Guan.

Vinice is a beautiful place, but for anyone thinking of going ..... take your own. I'm not sure what the smoking laws are, but we stopped for a coffee in St Marks Square — it's one of those expensive things tourists are expected to do, like taking a Gondola ride — there was a family at the next table and the mum lit up a fag. No one seemed fussed about it and the waiters didn't ask her to stop so possibly it's legal?

I don't recall any issues with smoking at the outside cafes last time the familia Coro visited Venice. But you must bring your own! And like you, we found it a great place to visit, sit outside with a beverage and your finest puro. Personally, I preferred the small cafes located in the nooks and crannies of the city over the more popular Piazza San Marcos - too many pigeons for me!

Love Venice out of season.. But like TJ, prefer the backstreet cafes, bar and restaurants.

Nice to see you around Arf.. Hope all well.

And it's nice to see you around as well, senor el C!

From what I've read in don TJ's jorunals, you two were quite valiant in the early days keeping the dastardly knewbees at bay. Man! Wish I coud of been there!

I hope you will stick around for a bit and regale us with from the early days, por favor.

Thanks Cat .... and yes, I agree with both of you the backstreet cafe's and bars are better.

You should find the LGC Dean. They've only just been released. Hopefully still around when you get there. I imagine LFdC and earlier releases will be long gone though

The other thread shows, that that might not be the case, but you have to do your research from home on possible Tabaccherias
