  • 'Shindig' at Manchester St - Monday 30th Jan.

It appears those chaps at No.10 Manchester St are planning a little cigar based 'soiree'.

    Details as follows:

"Hunters & Frankau will provide an hour's talk on a selected cigar to be enjoyed with a perfectly matched drink in Ten's all-weather cigar terrace and walk-in humidor. This January, Ten will be pairing a Cohiba 1966 (Limited Edition 2011) 6 ?" (166mm) x 52 ring gauge with Remy Martin, Louis VIII. Spaces are limited so booking is essential"

    DATE: 30th January 2012
    TIME:
    6.30pm
    PRICE:
    ?45.00

Seems decent value (compared to the cost of the recently cancelled 'film night').

Interested to hear the thoughts of members who attend, particularly regarding the Cohiba..
My own experiences, have sadly been rather negative.. (to say the least). But perhaps just unlucky..?

    The booze though, is 'top-drawer'.

(P.S. The 'blurb' is a 'cut-and-paste'.. I'm assuming what they really mean is the 'Remy Martin Louis XIII')

Why is it all the events seem to be in the week? School nights as it were? I guess they can get enough people in who actually work in the area but it's a bitch for those of us outside of London...

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

Evening gents. I would quite like to try this event as I have never been to this venue (although like El Cat, did not get on with the Cohiba 1966). So I will book up tomorrow and will be bringing my two sons along.

          See you guys then.

No don't think I can make the stop over but will probably arrive early afternoon, visit a couple of other London smoke shops, then have some food before going to the event. Happy to meet up beforehand if that fits in.

We are struggling to get tickets as they have sold out. I could book them last week as I had a problem with my credit cards whilst abroad and they were all cancelled and the replacements have yet to arrive. We are travelling down to London anyway and hope to try and get in last minute. Hopefully we will see you guys there.

Is the Cohiba '66 really that bad? From what some of you lads on here are saying, it seems to be getting poor reviews....poor show at nearly ?40 a stick....

I guess nobody from here made it.

Like you Keith I tried to get a ticket but it was already sold out by then. I have a 1966 sitting in the humidor, but I don't really want to touch it for a little while yet. Would have been nice to see how they are 'fresh'.
