  • Newbie question

I took a look at all Cuban Cohiba cigars online, and found that no two cigars share the same length/gauge combination. So my question is: Are the cigars different in composition, or they all use the same tobacco inside out but just vary in length and gauge? In other words, is there a difference between let's say Siglo II and Siglo III other than dimensions? If yes, what is the difference? Are the tobacco leaves treated differently?

    Thanks in advance.

    In Short
Different leaf from different parts of the plant, different quantity, quality and age used in different Cigars.

Yeah different blends, they should all taste different but follow the same general Cohiba DNA flavour profile......should

Thanks a lot. I received a box of Esplendidos for Christmas and it has been a heavenly 2 months. Just needed to know before I invest. Now I'm going to explore the rest of the line

          Thanks again

Indeed they are normally far superior in construction and flavour to the normal stuff....cheaper too.

People, remember that I'm a newbie and can get confused easily Is that some sort of a joke? If not, then please tell me how come they are superior and cheaper and where should I look. Thanks

Sounds like you have it sussed.
You should be able to see through that one.

Glad you enjoyed the esplendidos! Fakes aside, cost isn't everything in the world of Cuban cigars - a bolivar royal corona is a very similar smoke to a Cohiba robusto but the pricetag is closer to the ?10 mark rather than the ?20 mark.

I do enjoy a Cohiba though and I have to admit that the Siglo VI (one of the expensive ones) is a super super smoke

Thanks for that. Now I'm already learning

One final question though. What's the best place to buy Cohibas in London? I bought cigars from Tomtom and Harrods but I suppose there are places that sell genuine stuff at lower prices.

                          Thanks

If you buy from a cigar store in the UK you are always going to be buying real. I don't really enjoy cohiba all that much so never really looked at prices

actually, that's a valid point. where are the cheaper places to buy Cubans from within London, if not in the UK? or are all the prices roughly similar?
