  • Mayfair Cigar Shop

Had a stroll round Shepherd Market and popped into Turmeaus the fairly new Cigar shop, met Danny and had a look at the well stocked Humi didnt have time to sample but they have a very nice small lounge downstairs , not to mention a descent pub opposite, this has to be included on Nics Cigar Walk this part of London is very special, full of character and many very good restaurants and bars. Anyone visiting the Capital will love this area , C.Gars will do well here , a must visit . Just off Picadilly.

Keep meaning to call in there. Quick question; are the prices in store the same as on the CGars website?

No but they will match the online price. We can stroll over on Thurs.

I like the sound of this please but i thought only JJ Foxs was exempt from the smoking ban unless the lounge is non-smoking.

I'm pretty sure any building which sells cigars can have a designated 'cigar sampling area' as long as certain critera are met

Yeh no problem , you can smoke in Boisdale , Ajays, Fox's, Turmeaus, Davidoff, and a couple of the best hotels. As said, sampling areas.

If I remember right, it's about having a certain amount of your main turnover coming from cigar/tobacco sales...

Indeed it is, 50% plus of turnover must be cigar, pipe or snuff related products (I think that's right) - cigarette sales do not count. There is more to it than that, of course, in particular with regards to special circumstances, such as a tobacconist being within another business (as per the cigar shop in Boisdale CW).

Really looking forward to trying out this new Turmeaus. I think I've only managed one flying visit to London since it opened, so haven't had any chance to try it out... Yet.

I believe I was the first customer to use the lounge - popped in there to do some christmas shopping on behalf of my mother, buying some cigars for my bro & couldn't resist one for myself:

                            Hi snooky,

It was a pleasure to meet you.

I always enjoy greeting customers, helping them to select the cigars which most suit their tastes, offering advice and having a nice chat.

I'm always ready to welcome customers and very much enjoy socialising and having a cigar with customers in our sampling room.

We will offer internet prices when quoted and all members of UKCF are very welcome to come along at any time and enjoy a fine cigar with complimentary coffee or perhaps something stronger!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, if I'm not in then the lovely Lucy will be ready to attend to you.

Also, Mitch and friends often pop in for a herf.
