    hey guys,
was looking some advice on a possible purchase! i've never had an el rey del mundo cigar, was thinking of buying a box of 'choix supreme' or 'demi tasse'! chances are they're likely to be 2010 or 2011's!! what would you guys advise.......... i've heard good things about them, however, i'd rather hear all your thoughts on them!

    cheers,

    alex

I love the Choix Supreme. A wonderfully constructed, light, fruity cigar which I always seem to go for on a sunny afternoon with a pint of cider!
I've had a few demi-tasse but found them all to be a bit tight to draw. I know a lot of other lads on here like the DT but I've never gotten on with it.
I finally tracked down a Grandes de Espana this summer and thought it was magic...shame they're now discontinued though

Get the CS mate...no regrets I'm sure

I like both and although you should always try before you commit to a box at 100 quid for 25 cannot go wrong with the demi imo.

            Hey Alex!

I've had the PC which is a very tasty stick if you can find them, discontinued last year if I remember right. Smoked one or two of both the Choix Supreme and Demi-tasse, enjoyed them all for smokes at the milder end of the spectrum. For me the best size to match the profile is the PC...

Choix Supr?me and demi tasse are 2 completely different cigars - I like both but they are not intended for the same purpose…
The CS is a creamy easy-going robusto, the demi tasse is a tasty, refined short break smoke that requires all your attention… An aged demi tasse is like a mini (micro?) Grandes de Espa?a…

Alex the DT can be smoked right away but will really, really benefit with years and the more the better, twenty not being unusual. The Choix is a pretty good cigar, the Grandes if you can find any, are (were) in a different league.

ERdM generally age well, Tres Petit can still be found EMS, I really like them and trying one might be a good start point for you.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Funny, I think the Choix is under flavoured and not very good, though I've had the odd one I've enjoyed. As everyone else suggests, try them first...

PM me if you'd like a Choix' Alex

I prefer the demi tasse to the Choix, which I find to be a bit bland. But as others have said the demi tasse really needs some age on it before it starts to shine (no less than 5 years IMO).

I recently wrote a review of the ERDM Tainos - a truly excellent churchill:

There are still a few of these about so I'd strongly recommend picking some up while you still can. They really are outstanding!

Well, I think that's honest. I used pretty good as my description 'cos I didn't want to put Alex off, but my experience has been about the same as Dean's .... only the odd one will hit the spot.

Myself love having a box of Choix Supreme's hanging about for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Maybe I've been a little more fortunate than others and have found them to be consistent in flavour and "hitting the spot". Getting a few singles of the Choix Supreme is a safe enough bet methinks.
