  • My first purchase list...

So after coming on the site just to research if i could buy Swisher Sweets in Spain I'm now compiling a list of Cuban cigars that i want to buy!

This could be the start of something very enjoyable and very expensive! I can't wait

I leave for Barcelona on the 17th so only just over a week to go

After some research and review reading my list of wants is as follows:

    Diplomaticos No2

Bolivar Britanicas.... Are these available in Spain?

    Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure Especial

    Saint Luis Rey Churchills

El Ray Del Mundo Choix Supreme

    Vegas Robaina Unicos

    Davidoff Gran Cru No5

Brick House Mighty Mighty.... Are these available in Spain?

    Montecristo Grand Edmundo Ltd 2010

    Diplimaticos No1

    Cohiba Manduro 5 secretos

Romeo y Juliet Escudos Ltd 2007 Maduro..... Are these available in Spain?

    Trinidad Robusto Extra

    Punch Tres Petit Corona

    Juan Lopez Selection No2

    Montecristo No2
    Partagas Lusitanius

Really looking forward to getting these home and breaking open my good tipples to have with them

Any comments appreciated as I'm a total cigar Novice.

Only me! but don't bother with the Monte Open Eagle,,,IMHO waste of money...& some of the others maybe a bit of a kick for you...but overall you've done your homework... now enjoy

PS. Know nowt about the NC's

      Hey Scotty, lol.

Thanks again for advice, The more i can get the better mate. The Open eagle is the only one where the reviews were mixed, bias toward the negative so i,m going to remove it from the list.

I like fairly strong smokes so I've leaned toward the medium /full strength cigars. Spices, salt, leather and earthy tones really appeal to me.

So what do you think i should replace the Open Eagle with?

        Something in the Partagas line
If you got 'em, smoke 'em !

For that kind of profile Bolivar, Partagas and Ramon Allones are the way to go IMO.
If you want a midget to look like a baby, don't put a cigar in his mouth.

The Serie P No.2 is a good bet, have smokes rather a lot of them over the years and found them to be a consistently enjoyable cigar!

Consider adding a Partagas Lusitanias to your list - it's a wonderful cigar that has never failed to delight.

            Enjoy your trip!

Also new to Cubans but one of the best i've smoked so far has to be the Monte No 2! Magical!

And to make it even more expensive get at least two of each. It's hard to really judge a single cigar if you've got nothing to compare it too. A plugged stick, the occasion when and where you smoke can all effect the experience.

The Funks is absolutely right..when they're on they are fabulous...fortunately my 'newest' are '05, quite a lot after this & some previous have been inconsistent...be patient with them..as Kev says you may like the Partagas profile from what you've said..I'm only just 'getting back' into them & beginning to enjoy them again...Bye the way you're stretching your ?150 limit even in Spain as I would as H4rty82 suggested buy 2 of each..1 to smoke & 1 to store.

So a bit more reading research and it's going to be either the Partagas Lusitanius or Motecristo No2. I'm leaning towards the No2 from what the reviews say.

2 of each! Blimey, i may have to raid the pound jar, it is fairly full now The exchange guy will love me handing over a couple of hundred ?1 coins tehehe.

Thanks again Guys for all this fantastic info/advice.

Very nice list, I would add hupmann magnum 46 or 50. Both fantastic.

When you get a Monte 2 that's on.......you'll do well to find any other cigar to beat it.

Unfortunately, the last time they were really on was 2004.
If you got 'em, smoke 'em !

An expensive trip tho very enjoyable, depending on your prefered vitola for a fuller flavour the Party serie D No4 over the MC No2 .
                          Enjoy.

You won't find the Boli Britanicas out there, its UK Regional Edition! By the way, add Sancho Panza Belicosos to your list! Nam!

Have to disagree akevree. Big fan of the 2. I've a very current b?ite from Jun 2011 that has been something else and I've smoked loads from the last 12 year's or so....
I hear a lot about 2s being on or off but I've only ever had one crap one and it was a plugger from 2001...
