OK Chaps, here's a poser for you (I think)...

Is Diadema the singular of Diademas, it says Diademas on the box but it's a single & I have seen it referred to as Diadema in several references!

A quick Google and I think it has no s in the singular. Diadema means crown, glory etc..

There's an S on the Italian Punch RE too....

A singular Churchills is a Churchills not a Churchill .... same is true for Lonsdales etc.

Yes Steve, but I think you need to be able to Google in Spanish!

Don't worry about it Dave. Just think of cigars as being female. All your confusions will make no sense at all .... and will be different confusions tomorrow!

                  How about:
                  Diadeami
                  Londai
                  Coronai

I think Diadema is both singular and plural much like the word sheep, you don't say '3 sheeps' you say '3 sheep', for a large amount it is a 'flock of sheep'.

However this is a foreign word (I assume the Spanish version) which does have a plural 'Diademas'; yet as pointed out before this refers to a crown/crowns or jewellry (which can be both plural and singular).

But We are referring to a cigar with the plural cigars so I'd personally say that either '3 Diadema' or '3 Diademas' or to be totally safe '3 Diadema cigars' would be fine. If you switched the word Diadema with Behike or Cohiba or Maduro or El pricipe you could get away with all three expressions.

Personally I preffer '3 Diadema' or 3 'Diadema cigars' since it is a Spanish word and it may be confusing to many English people (even cigar smokers) if I used Diademas as well as Diadema. So I suppose it's down to personal preference (in my opinion) rather than what is grammaticaly correct.

                    that's my two cents anyway.

think i'll stick with the English 1 Corona ...2 Coronas
                      I Diadema...2 Diademas
                      etc
think lucky and you'll be lucky

Perhaps there isn't a definitive answer?
