Isn't this Forum lucky to have such vigilant moderators to weed out the infiltrators and keep the arena free for constructive, non-commercial comment ?

You know, Scotty, I doubt if towny and city folk will have heard of Spam - or Carnation milk - or such like. Not like us backwoodsmen who look to such foodstuffs when the roadkill stew runs out and the last pigeon has foolishly alighted on our washing line !

Just telephoned the restaurants at the Lanesborough and the Montague to check their dessert menus and, guess what, fresh picked blackberries and Carnation milk aint on ! Also, they had never heard of roadkill stew ! Strange - truly strange !

It's a treat knowing you Scotty - a true connersewer of all things culinary ! Isn't it amazing what you can get from a pig's lips and arseholes ? If only my childhood had been filled with all the scrumptious goodies you mention I wouldn't be the weakly 19 stone, ex tight head prop I am today. Malnutrition is a terrible thing ! Tonight I'll no doubt dream of Hafnia chopped pork - or some such thing !

never heard of hafnia pork, we take tins of pek with us every time we go camping, I have to admit I really look forward to it! (and you should come down to Yorkshire the local farm shop makes the best potted beef)

What about Shippams Salmon spread then...a smear of pale pink on a piece of buttered bread Saturday tea....mmmmn!
My Mum used to tell us the Queen had Salmon , that's in the days when there only was one Queen & it wasn't Larry Grayson...
