    Good call on the Uigeadail senor, what Bruichladdich's have you tried so far? The only one I didn't like was the ?80 Black Art, way too sharp for me. I've just been trying to find more Infinity 3 and they have stopped doing that expression .

    Whilst I love my Scotch, if I am going to get trollied on Whisky(ey) I would choose a Jamesons most times, there is no way I could drink 1/2 a bottle of Lagavulin and have any tastebuds left!
    hey dave,
    so far, from the bruichladdich range, i've had:
    the laddie 10, rocks, waves, barley 2004 & 2006, organic, port charlotte 'an turas mor', PC7, PC8.........

    all cracking drams!!! btw, if you like jameson's, give the 'crested ten' a go!!! it's about the same price (around ?20), and a good introduction to the pot stilled character:

    cheers,

    alex

      Tomintoul 21. Mellow and complex, not a powerhouse but you have taste those 21 years in sophistication and finish.
      Stunning value at ?51.95 for a 21yo.

        I hope you enjoy Pitlochry, its not too far away from me. It has a small but very nice distillery at Edradour, you should find something interesting there and the tours not bad either.

          It is on the tour agenda, my whisky drinking friend swears by Edradour Cask Strength.

            Speyside: Cragganmore 12 (my go to whiskey) - Working through a distillers right now
            Islay: Bruichladdich 15+ (any edition is fine) - Got a 20 year old First
            Lowlands: Isle of Arran Cask Strength - I can even do this without watering down from 53%
            Highlands: Dalmore (any age above 12) - Working through a bottle of 22 right now.
            Isle: Haven't tried enough to know.... Any suggestions?

              I think I'd definitely be tempted to get two bottles with my ?70! For me that would probably be something like a Lagvulin 16 & a Highland park 12!
              However if you wanted the slightly more higher end bottles there is definitely some cracking advice in this thread depending what type of malt you prefer! I'd go for one of the two below;
              Corryvreckan / Laphroig 18 - Both great Islay's
              Highland Park 18 will leave you with enough change to buy a nice complimentary cigar!

              Has anyone tried any of the following, as they sit in this range and it's something I'm keen to try;
              Bruichladdich 15 Year (currently ?20 off @ TWE!)
              Dalmore Cigar Malt
              Lagvulin 12 yr old & Lagvulin Distillers edition

                Distillers Lagavulin is one of my all time favourites. The new Dalmore Cigar Malt I found to be a mere shadow of the Gran Reserva, which it pretty much replaced.

                  Bruichladdich I've tried the 10, 12 and 20. I guess that the 15 should just be a tad more complex than the 10 and 12 which doesn't leave much on the palate as an aftertaste. It should also be a tad less floral than the 10 if you've ever found hints of that before.
                  If it's 20 off, i'd run there and get that in a heartbeat. Bruichladdich is already amazing quality for a great price.

                  Dalmore Cigar Malt is just like the 15 but a tad smokier. I'd never pair a Dalmore with a cigar, even this dalmore. It actually lives up to its name as a Highland with this one. But i drink Dalmore because it's not peaty so it kinda defeats the purpose for me to buy an entire 70cl, haha.
                  But to each their own.

                    +1 on the Lagavulin Distillers. My '94 bottle is stunning, only the '95 available now but I understand is very close.
