  • Best Hoyo De Monterreys?

    Afternoon all,

I know this will largely be down to personal preference, but I am hoping for some advice/opinions from you all.

I am a big fan of HDM Petit Robusto's but the only other HDM I have tried is the Hoyo Short Hoyo Piramides.

I am looking to order 3 or 4 to try and wondered which would be the best out of the bunch?

    Many Thanks,

    Adam

I don't like all of the Le Hoyo Series, but IMHO the best of the Hoyo de Monterrey brand is one of them .... des Dieux.

The Epicures, Petit Robusto are very good, as is the Short Piamides, which I think will only get better.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

As both have already mentioned all of the Epicures are excellent, my favourite being the Epicure No2.

If you can get hold of a Regalos LE 2007 they are superb.

          Thanks for the responses guys.

Got a nice little list forming. I think I might give an Epicure 1 & 2 a go, and perhaps get an especial on my next order. The Des Dieux is also one that has always looked good.

            hey adam,
although i don't smoke too many HdM cigars, i highly recommend the epicures (more so the no.1 and especial, which i believe is the best of the bunch! the no.2 is too light for my tastes)!! the petite robusto and 2007 el (regalios) are lovely cigars too....

The Epicures are relatively easy smokes, however, I also think the Le Hoyo des Dieux is the best the brand has to offer.

I'm a major fan of HdM... The Regalos a fab smokes and smoking really well at the mo with getting on for 6 yrs age. Epi 2 is another fave and I've never had a bad Petit Robusto. More recently the Short Piramides have been good too...

I'm yet to work my way thru the Hoyo series, only having tried des Dieux.

I used to be a big fan of the HdM line, but like most puros, they are best served with a few years on them - like the epicure and the des Dieux.

Only ever had the Epi 2 from '07 and Epi ESP from '08, both smoked last year, both bland, one dimensional and unimpressive. , sad face cos I traded 2 SigloIV's for them.

An aged petit robusto, is a cracking little smoke indeed, i have some from 2006 and they have been flawless so far, the short pyramid is good too and will only get better with age...
The cheap and cheerful palmas extra is a good one to try, as for me it offers an array of flavours and gives a good feel of what you can expect from the Hoyo line, without having to dig deep into your pockets. I'd say give them a try, especially with a few years on them, you may be pleasantly surprised...

All HDM's are better with age on, of the Le Hoyo line the des Dieux is very good, always had them with age on so can't vouch for young'uns. Epicure No. 1 are also good, as for smaller smokes the Deputes are quite pleasant for a short lunchtime smoke, the Short Hoyo Piramide I've heard good things about but have not yet tried as still young.

The Grand Epicure will be interesting when released latter this year...

Picked up an Epi 2 while I was in Windsor today, which I had planned to smoke this afternoon.

My little'un had other ideas though, and has been pushing my buttons since he woke up.

Think i'll grab one of each of the suggested smokes to lay down. Good timing as my new humi should be here early next week.
