  • Slender Smokes

After thoroughly enjoying my first ERDM demi tasse, i am on the hunt for some similarly sized (ring gauge mainly) smokes.

Wouldn't mind longer, but i have a good stock of medium to large ring gauge cigars.

I know a few of you smoke these sort of cigars regularly, and i'd like to use them as something i can rely on to go with a coffee or such.

Going to order a few different ones to try. So far:

    Punch Margaritas
    Le Hoyo du Maire
    Le Hoyo du Gourmet

What else should i be looking at? I'm sure i've seen a montecristo around this size but can't remember the name.

    Cheers,

    Adam

The joyita is the thin montecristo, same size as the punch margaritas, and the cohiba panatela, which I love, shame about its price tag!

      Thanks for that!

I might get a couple of the monte's to try and I might splash out on a Cohiba panatlea one day

Unfortunately your in for a tough time as habanos seems to have it in for the slender smokes. My personal favourites the partagas serie de connoisseur range and the QdO pantella were killed off and boxes are getting seriously thin on the ground.

Everything I seem to read says the same.
I'm guilty of falling for larger ring gauge cigars when i started a few years ago, and i do still love being enveloped in a mountain of smoke, while enjoying one.

Recently though i've had less and less time to enjoy a smoke all the way through. The demi tasse i had in 20 mims the other night with a cup of coffee cured a headache i had fought with all day. It was pure bliss.

There was something elegant and unobtrusive about smoking my little stick out in the garden before i settled in for the night.

I will be picking up a box of those, but don't want to make the mistake i've made in the past by stocking up on the first thing i like.

          Thanks for the heads up.

P.S. this may all have sething to do with Si and Arf's posts about these delivious looking sticks :P

I think most people start off with larger RG because that what, from Hollywood, you expect. Also you have to be more delicate to achieve the best results with the slender guys. If PMs start back up again send me you address and I will send you a couple to try.

Your still available options are probably the Cohiba pantella and lgdc no4

Have only had a few of the slimmer thinner smokes but do thoroughly enjoy and can often surprise vs much bigger cigars.

Margarita and Maire both quite small. Gourmet took me a little bit of time to smoke but did develop..

Very much appreciated sligub. I will certainly do that. I think you may be right, they can also be quite mellow (Hoyo etc)
