I know full well who he is, having followed him for years and having met and spoken to him

I think you're taking the 'if' he's stated that too literally, I wasn't questioning the authenticity of the statement! I suspect it won't last very long...

I think you have misread or misunderstood my post..I'm not confused! I do understand grey market trading, which is a massive part (and perk) of the cigar industry..
I've kept out of the actual Grey Market issues on the threads..my issue has always been the way that ask & answer was always jumped on by the mods with a severe lack of tact & diplomacy towards members asking legitimate questions..but I'm not going to go there again you are pretty aware of my feelings on that..
That is why I ask you to clarify what you believe is legal/illegal..can be posted, can't be posted, within an actual framework.
If you've had free advice..remember the old adage..Free advice is No advice... & as for any warnings you've had, well, what can I say? we have a pink elephant emoticon somewhere..whoever has "warned" you has no idea at all what they are talking about,..there are always people willing to scaremonger & whisper in your ear on the back of tuppence worth of knowledge...I would suggest you don't let these fools sway better judgement..

By the way..I like TJ's posts..they hold no malice..but he is easily misinterpreted ..

I see, I see. Yes I think that will all go under the new sticky rules clean up etc. By the way, it's not a 'perk' it's illegal!

I believe we should be more lenient towards newbies...or at least try!

Typed medium..very hard to get actual message across sometimes..I know, you know who he is..that's why I said that..& yes, I may have taken the 'if' too literally..maybe you should have said 'when'...

I know it's fecking awful. The amount of emails I've sent which have back-fired from interpretation of 'tone' etc.

Trust me on this one Deano, nearly everybody in the industry commits illegalities on a daily basis...how much for a bit of Cuban leaf ??

I don't disagree, but it doesn't mean I want to host a public forum discussing it!

For any forum to survive it must be a place that people want to come and visit. The hang up with another forum taking members is ridiculous. If this place was more attractive then people would frequent both as demonstrated by some existing members and mods.

Yes, so this thread is here to ask for suggestions to make it more attractive for people to post?

More of a feeling of community. Where are all the sales, swaps and meets?

Deno, IMHO, I would respectfully suggest you check your legal liabilities as the owner before agreeing to any changes that makes you feel uneasy, or inadvertently transgress the law, however good intetioned...

It would be nice to see the return of the sales forum. I also really like travel section and seeing people's various trips to Cuba. Maybe that could be developed further with photo galleries, travel guides and wotnot?
