Have a kip along to this lilting lullaby of a track - you should be dreaming nicely by about 4:58 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMpGdG27K9o

...or this, my favourite piece of acoustic music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUZimqkCsXw

...and as the suns been shining, here's one more for luck - just about one of my favourite things of any description: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPptTa3P-Hc

As you could possibly tell from the "coincidence" in the first track I've linked to - I'm a bit of a Floyd freak, but even so I reckon with the exception of DSotM & WYWH their albums tend to be a bit patchy, my favourite, Ummagumma, a double album contains one disc that is roughly half-unlistenable.

As for DSotM, after 40 years of hearing the original I now much prefer to listen to the reggae version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uUpRCKtAw8

          /QUOTE]

Whaddya mean "roughly half?" The entire studio album is unlistenable to. And this coming from a Phloyd Phreak.

              1/WYWH:
I taped the opening 'Wish you were..' track & the last one together & played them again & again in the dark. Student days, imaging I was stoned instead of just drunk I suppose but never was.

              2/DSOTM:
Remember Time when all the alarm clocks go off? At our training camp at HMS Dolphin the civy gate guard used to play that every morning ove the tannoy system to wake us up, enough to send you mad or make oyu invest in seriou sear protection.

              3/The Wall.
Saw them perform the wall at Wembly. having seen the film first. Bob Geldolf as a stoned out of his brain rock star, one film & he was type cast for life! Definately his seminal role...& he didn't even say word (as far as I can recall).
Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

You can listen to PF at any age. Hell when I get children, they won't get any weird children's music. I'll just play them Comfortably Numb and maybe the first half of the Division Bell to get them to sleep.

I find that too funny to be insulting.
But waaaaaait, weren't you the bloke who said you drift off to all Floyd tunes??

True...getting sleepy just thinking about them.
The minute anyone starts talking about Yes or Asia I'll be out for the count.

                        The Wall
                        Meddle
Piper at the gates of dawn

I spent many an misspent evening with the wall, if you listen closely, at the very end of the album it quietly says "isn't this where' and at the very beginning it says quietly "we came in". Lots of nice touches like that hidden in the album.
Meddle is just a nice album, a great journey with Seamus the dog.
Cant forget Sid, Piper took some getting into after the later works but still a great album. Bike still makes me laugh though.

Figure you mean "Atom Heart Mother cover"
The cover to Animals is the flying pig over the Battersea Power Station (Only reason I know the generator is because of Command and Conquor: Red Alert, the '96 video game)
