Glad to hear so many of you are interested, I hope it will be a great night. Been rather busy with trying to get this sorted (and a few other things out and about given that the land has been dry enough to get on this last week!), hence my absence for the last week or so.

Sadly the sponsorship almost, but didn't quite, come off. Tickets will be ?42.50 for UKCF members (?50 normally - I've upped the discount to take account of the higher price and the booking fee - as I'm putting everything through the ticketing site).

I've already got something incredibly special in the works for a Christmas show (think of mega-star comedians with a penchant for cigars... can't say anything publicly We need to get that far though, so please spread the word if you can - hoping for a full-ish house and a good atmosphere. We'll have two (possibly three) comedians, so there will be about 45 minutes of 'entertainment', plus opportunities to sample the whisky and have the traditional herfing chinwag.

Whisky choice likely to be, though not absolutely certain yet: Aberlour A'Bunadh (Batch 44) and one of the Dalmore Rivers Collection

    Anyway...
Tickets? use the members price (if there's a notes box or something, just whack in UKCF) : http://www.wegottickets.com/event/221737

Would love to come, but 11hrs each way on the bus is a bit more than I can handle

It's a great idea and venture, and good onya Simon, but Londinium is too far for an evening out for me too sadly.

No worries guys. Thanks to those that have already booked.

It will be a great night - but will only work well with 20+ guys (it will run come what may, but comedy needs a few people laughing to keep it going ).

Can't make it down to this event due to tight funds/exams, but definitely will pop down to a future one providing it continues to run. Have a good night to those that are going!!

No worries littlepea - certainly know the timetabling influence of exams. I think, having chatted with the good people at JJF, that we're up to about 15 tickets sold so far, not great thus far, but probably just about enough to make it likely that we'll be back with a second show.

Thanks to those who've bought tickets so far. Would be great to catch up with as many UKCF chaps as possible.

Btw guys, if anyone who is planning on attending has any preference for a particular whisky (especially if it's one you think works well with HdM), shout out, I'll be picking up the whisky on the morning of the show, so have plenty of flexibility.

This sounds like a great idea, and is definitely something I would be interested in attending in the future, it would also be nice to meet a few other people interested in smoking cigars - I'm still new to them and although I'm trying to convince some family and friends to take it up I think I'm considerably more interested than them!

Unfortunately I can't make it this time but I will do everything I can to make the next one!

Not going to be able to make his despite being incredibly interested, would have been good to catch up... I'm in Madrid with work now and equally gutted that I think I'll be too tight on time to get out to do some cigar shopping!

Thanks for letting me know Will - hope Madrid is treating you well and that work isn't quite as strenuous as anticipated.

Thank you Stephan. I spotted your name on the list, so look forward to catching up this evening. I asked in the shop, and they didn't have any in stock unfortunately (helpfully they could have got some down from Glasgow for next week... haha).

At the moment there are four whiskies - each a little something different, hopefully there will be at least one new one for everyone to try. I've also secured the services, in true pseudo-corporate-type-event style, of a lovely young lady to top up everyone's tipples...

(One last, quick, reminder of the event to throw in, and then I'll have done with spamming about the event - for a couple of months at least - a second night is already on the books... 6.30pm at JJ Fox, comedy will get going around 7.30pm, and we've got the run of the place until about 10ish if things are moving along sociably. You'll be able to pick up a ticket on the door, or from below for the reduced rate).

Look forward to seeing a few of you there, should be a fun evening (a couple of things I already know I need to work on for next time, but only little touches, should still be quite special I hope.
