Nicked from an Monte Especiales or a Qd'O box.

The seal looks genuine .... except it should be on a 5 or 3 pack.

Any thoughts of legitness. What makes me ponder is why not sell them on here not ebay

.... because we might ask what became of the outer which carries the Warrenty seal, the diagonal Habanos sticker which should be on the box and the Official Cuban cigar receipt, without which they would have been confiscated at the airport

.... apart from that he's 50 posts shy of being able to sell on here. The Cohiba clasp looks a wee bit suspect, but the cigars and bands don't look too bad at all IMO.

I'm curious how a 'fake' cohiba would actually smoke..... Not enough to buy them obviously!

Some aren't good- short filler, bad rolled, tobacco was picked yesterday, etc.
Some aren't bad- long filler, rolled decently but look terrible, really veiny, etc.
Very few are good-I had a fiver at home that's actually pretty good. Came in cello wrapped and obviously fake as they were maduro, very veiny, etc. But it smoked reminiscent of a sweet bolivar. I would've ranked those higher than a Boli LE2009

First section is most likely though. All mine were bought when I was first starting or gifted to me by non-smokers at a special event or back from Cuba.

I imagine that the quality of fakes can have a huge variety. Not worth the risk IMO!

Busted! Well not really, I just didn't want to get in trouble with you lot by putting them up on the forum-particulalry because I'm new!

                          Here's the story.

They are a box I bought in Cuba from the Cigar Shop at Castilo El Morro in Havana, along with a perfecto rolled by
Jose Castelar (world record roller) who was doing demonstrations there.

I'm just not sure about them so wanted to get rid as I have another box of what I know to be genuine Esplendidos purchased in the UK in the humidor.

I paid the full price, had the receipts and the outer box etc, but I later found out that outer box was from some Sir Winstons when I checked the Habanos code back in the UK.

There were a couple of anomalies with the cigars so I sent them to a (very well known) UK dealer to be checked.

                          Their response was as follows:

"I am satisfied that the cigars and the bands are quite genuine as far as I can tell without smoking 2 of the cigars and testing blend. I have compared bands to EMS bands, box and cigars, examined to feet of the cigars and see no cause for concern save for the one cigar that does not colour match."

I'm still none the wiser and can't be persuaded either way. Bands look ok to me, a bit faded but this box was open when I bought it, I later assumed it must have been out on display.
I've tried a couple and they seem ok to me, but with the doubt in my mind I would never fully enjoy them. I've also cut one open and it is all long filler, no shavings etc!

If anybody wants to try one or have a look I would happily post the box to you for an opinion!

he "contents incidental" line in the listing was a poor attempt to get round ebay's rules!

You bought them from a Lcdh, you've go had them checked by an EMS retailer and they smoke well? They are real, the code check is done by Cubans and should never be used as a absolute Fake/real test as Cuban QC is well known for its mistakes.

I would personally be very happy to buy with that provenance.
