  • Advice on selling or trading

I've been wondering....I have a few Montecristo LE Sublimes 2008 that I want to either trade or sell. I acquired them in a trade myself, so have no idea of value. I smoked one of these for my 39th last year, and although extremely good, the size is beyond me. I prefer much smaller smokes. Also, if the wrapper has split (but filler intact) or the foot has swelled, how does that affect price or desirability? I have a few small bundles of no longer made cubans that I would like advice on. Can anybody help me out?

Anyway, I don't mean this to be a dodgy hint-hint gimme an offer post, but a genuine question of how I determine value, so I can put up a post in the appropriate for sale / trade section.

    Thanks!

As you have 100+ posts Paul, I am willing to take you as a genuine seller/trader. The obvious answer is post some pic's & let us be the judge of their condition. Personally I don't worry about a small split or swollen foot too much but others might.

Aye. Expanded or scrappy foot doesn't matter much as you're lighting it on fire anyways!
But a shrunken stick suggests clumsy conditions. I've got a few sticks quite cheaply because they were out of the weather for a tad too long.
Normally, you can tell when the veins are a tad more apparent and the band slides a TAD too easily (but the again, a few of my fresh ones from Cuba slide easily too.. A few....... )

Thanks for the answers. I understand about the shrivelled state. I acquired eight La Gloria Medaille d'Or No. 3 (long and thin) that look very shrunk and the veins on the wrapper pronounced. I think they taste excellent, though, and are my favoured size, so I don't mind that they are a bit rough looking.

Anyway, I took a picture of the Sublimes for your evaluation:

Hi Paul. If it were me I would look to price the (partial) box between ?90-130 region. These are now rare and sought after sticks.

          Of course just MHO

Hi Paul, this damage looks like over humidification, can happen at times in the yr but try not to top up/ wet the beads too much when weather conditions are humid too, better a little dry than too wet. Look totally smokable though.
