Smoking my first perla now, certainly not as bad as others have said, in fact I've had more disappointing smokes around the ?10 mark.

I read the first four posts before writing this. The rascalology is a good mantra to follow IMO, if I smoked one quality cigar a week I'd be happier than if I smoked a ton of cigars that give little but a tobacco hit. Everyone is different but in my mind this luxury is about enjoying the finesse of a well made cigar not maintaining a nicotine addiction. If you can afford to smoke cigars like cigarettes and that makes you happy then do it but if not I'd take one fine cigar a week over twenty fillers.

I had this at the weekend, my mother asked me to pick up a cigar for ?5/6 at the weekend for the brother in laws birthday as a "token gesture" I told her she wouldn't get much for that anyway as he doesn't have a humi it had to be a tubo which upped the price even more. Anyway ended up with a H. Upmann petit corona for ?8 as it was the only thing I knew was smokeable. Found it quite the challenge to find a bargain Cuban in the uk [emoji53]

Cigar prices in UK are double+ their actual price (say from Cuba or other EU countries).
So, you'd think a ?10 (UK bought) cigar would be a good un, when infact it may actually smoke like something that's worth ?5 or less…
Not to say that all cheap Cubans aren't a good smoke.
But there are ones where I take a step back and say "Hey… that was not worth ?15…"
or whatever the price of a particular cigar is.

Had no idea. Looks likes you can still pick up whole boxes of them at the moment though.

yeah you can but not from every retailer so that means more than likely that the H&F warehouse is empty so just the stock thats in shops left. A year ago I knew half a dozen places with dip 4's in stock now not a single retailer has any left.

Dunc's right, there are only cheaper ones. He's also right about the Partagas Chico, smoked correctly it's a proper Partagas and excellent value.

That's because as a Tres Petit it was no match for the Partagas, RyJ or ERdM equivalents ... and no match for the Punch Petit Punch. And other releases like the Partagas Shorts and RASCC left them behind.

Speaking of cheap cc's - what's the difference (other than size) between the Punch petit coronations and the Punch coronations?

Different size, different RG delivery, different smoking time and a difference of ?1.30 per stick UK prices. I prefer the smaller one, which can be picked up for around $3.06 each.
