  • Size - what do you prefer? (try and behave! )

I'm just wondering - do people tend to have a preference for different sizes of sticks - and if so, is there a particular reason beyond time?
I haven't smoked enough sticks yet to gain a preference, but was wondering what people thought?

Long dark and fat. Luckily my wife doesn't have any special needs!

I prefer a ring gauge of 50+ so far, but that may well change over time as I think the reason is that I'm smoking too fast for thinner sticks and miss a lot of the flavour because of it.

Tough Call in first place for me is a toss up between: Entreacto and Piramide, then 2nd place another tie between: Perla and Mareva.... though my experience is still somewhat limited.

I've enjoyed a larger ring on more occasions than not but I've only started exploring thinner ring gauges recently but have been enjoyed them

When God created cigars, he imagined a lonsdale

Something about a box pressed stick really appeals to me, length depends mostly on time available.

For once I am going with Butters (I think that's twice I have said that recently), Lonsdale or corona gorda are a decent size smokes, fit in the hand well & usually enough to satisfy. However I have always smoked the full range form Entreco to Grand Panatelas & plan to continue doing so. Less emphasis on large gauges though, 50 & above doesn't appeal much unless a piramide.

Ah yes. I'm with Jeremy and Simon - the Lonsdale, to me, just feels right. Generally prefer not to go past 50RG - 42, 46, and 50 seems to be the three which fall into my hand most often. Obviously depends on time available etc, but yes, think Lonsdale is about the perfect cigar size.

Shame the Lonsdale has a reputation for plugs though or has that been resolved since 2008? Not had any recent ones myself.
