  • Best place to find a flat in London or Greater Area

    So... What's the best place?
Anyone have a lead on this? Perhaps just a rental or lease. Something with a landlord.

Just for a year or so. Need to scout prices.

The best place to get a flat in London is nowhere if you want a reasonable rent cost, it's all expensive. I'd try Dulwich or Brixton for up and coming areas. But seriously unless you're loaded stay on the outskirts and travel in on the train.

there was a place just minutes from Vic station... only for a year so i guess 12000 pounds in rent won't be too bad if it's not for life

any sites, realtors, etc that you all would recommend?

High Wycombe has direct links into London, 1 bed house next door to me is currently renting at ?660 pcm....I'm sure flats in the area are slightly cheaper.

prices will most likely be higher if you are only doing a short let around ?100 to ?200 per month more if you only need it for a couple of months

This is for my mate who's scrambling to find lodging temporarily as he studies here for a year.

I'll let him introduce himself when the time is near. Very good Canuckistani BotL.

I figured you gents would have a vein of information regarding London living. So I'd be a fool not to ask.
I also wanted to keep it a surprise so he could introduce himself later.
