If the Scottish Referendum results in a "Yes" vote, will we get Scottish RE's? [emoji6]

We were taking about this at the UKCF herf. There was a little debate about the minimum number of boxes required!

Doubt it since Ireland don't. Though all depends if H&F lose the distribution rights from habonas which I doubt

x2. they're still working on one.
last time i believe it was a Nectares No. 4. It'll be even harder now with the darn laws that make sure a certain production must be produced.

No more Bolivar Armonias or ERdM Vikingos runs.

Also, rascal's point is to be remembered. The importers (H&F for you British Islanders and Gibraltarians) are the ones who decide the UK regionals and bicker with Habanos. very big doubt they'll risk a mass grossing UK regional for an isolated Irish or Scottish regional.

It is almost unimaginable the amount of commercial agreements that may need to be re-drawn if they vote for independence.

Cigars will be well down on the priority list. As for H and F and jurisdiction, one would imagine that will initially be dependent on their current contract (does it say 'UK' for instance). The second consideration is if HSA have any desire to appoint a new distributor for a relatively small market.

As with many things there will be very few overnight changes. Expect a series of long, protracted negotiations over many years. Most likely all parties will be worse of for the short-term as negotiations generally mean big legal bills and a reduction in income during the process.

                One World!

Somebody wake me when this thread is over.

                Jay, Ray Jay

Hey Ray Jay! Just because this has no impact on our side, doesn't mean it's not important to the lads over there. Besides, I'd love to try a Scottish RE - not only would they be cheap, but they would likely taste of potatos.

Ummm, blu-balls...I believe you're thinking of Ireland!

                heehee....my bad.

I'm more concerned about the cost of whisky increasing to be honest. If it remains at the same price then by all means Scotland may sod off!
