  • Morning smoke

I'm wondering if there is a significant difference in what you can smoke and when.
I had a cao brasilia the other day that knocked me on my arse and then realised I hadn't had much to eat before I smoked it.
So what's good for a morning smoke?
The main reason I am wondering is because my tit of a father in law is coming round tomorrow and I'm going to make myself scarce - and if I could have a nice stick and not go green, that would be lovely too!
So - suggestions please! I'll have had breakfast and will probably have it with a coffee or a coke......Over to you!

i personally wouldn't have them in mornings as i like to enjoy my cigars.

ocassionally when i have breakfast with mates, i may pull out an H. Upmann Epicure or something small and mild (aiming for Siglo Is). But for someone who smokes 2-3 cigars a week maximum, i mostly avoid that kind of stuff. i can't remember smoking anything larger than a Belvedere for a 'breakfast smoke'. or before 10am

    Brunch is a different subject.

Great question, Andrew! Definitely a hard one to answer, come to think of it.

Any El Rey del Mundo, Fonseca or Quintero are my 'earlybird' smokes.

Funnily enough I had a cheeky Quintero Londres Extra at 8.00am this morning after having to wake at an ungodly hour to take the wife to the train station

Although I somewhat get when people say a puro is a good afternoon or 'after dinner' smoke I must say that the time of the day for me is often irrelevant! Like BSP I tend to smoke at noon earliest however do occasionally love to light up after a good breakfast with my coffee! Smaller vitolas and lighter blended brands tend to do you best here, with that being said if you've had a good amount to eat time of day won't affect it's strength really. Personally I like to go for a thinner ring gauge, I know you have some RG perlas; they won't do you wrong! At the moment my PL Montecarlos are really a treat in the mornings..

I'm all out of perlas! Just couldn't get on with them
It's looking like I'm going to go for one of:
          PLPC
          Mag46
          ERDM CS
I've only got one Mag 46 and I've never had one before, so not sure whether to risk it on a morning smoke - whereas I have loads of the other two..
