That's why all Islamic countries are a no go for me. Nothing against muslims at all but the dangerous ones seem to be more of a risk at home.

Not aware of any internal problems in the UAE. Do you have any examples.

Nb. London has had decades of terrorist attacks but we don't worry.

Its probably an unfounded and groundless opinion but if serves to keep me alive so be it, the same way drinking Coke protects me from elephant attacks, its worked so far.

Here's the article by the way http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...upporters.html

And Wiki (the font of all unverified knowledge) has this to say

The UAE has been accused of funding terrorism. In 2014, Joe Biden accused UAE for helping the rise of ISIS in Syria and Iraq. UAE was one of only 3 countries to recognize the Taliban as Afghanistan's legitimate government (Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were the other two). US embassy cables reveal the UAE has played a significant role in funding the Taliban.[37]

The threat of a terrorist attack is a matter of concern. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of the Government of Australia advised travelers "to exercise a high degree of caution in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) because of the high threat of terrorist attack". The DFAT claimed they received reports of a terrorist plan to attack Western interests in the nation.[1]

It was recently reduced from severe to substantial, police officers and staff have been warned not to travel in partial uniform

High as hell. Some say higher than America. In fact, it's so high that I believe we should be able to remove all liberties like they have in some parts of the states... Immediate enactment of probing of the rectum for drugs/explosives,, potentially monitoring foreign officials for their 'potential' roles in terrorism, and don't forget to force people to enter a maschine where we can all see you naked/ expose you to some nice, healthy radiation in the name of 'fighting terrorism'.

Yeah I've been a few times, heading to RAK then will hire a car and re-visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi too. Mainly for cigar browsing :P

Well there's a couple of LCDH's in Dubai but doubt I'll get to them. Primarily it'll be Abu Dhabi's LCDH if I hire a car - I hear good things. Otherwise it'll just be the Dubai Airport LCDH!

Going to pick up a few coming in too, to smoke while I'm out there.

Deano has a top idea about picking up smokes incoming!

Suggestions wise, if you are in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa 'At The Top' experience is well worth it. The Atlantis Water Park on the Palm is epic...Other than that you have malls after mother loving malls. Obviously the gold market is good, not really because it is gold, but it gets you into the old part of Dubai which is exactly like Dubai was 15-20 years ago! The smells are fantastic! So, when you get over the fact that the malls are all there is in Dubai and that things in the mall are the same price if not more expensive than London.....Why? I really did not see many people who can not afford to splash the cash. Anyhow, oil aside (of which Abu Dhabi produces more barrels per day than Dubai does in a month...), other than nice hotel bars who during the day you can find the 6ft beautiful blondes sunning themselves on the Jumeriah Beach Park...Mainly Russian but I doubt the import was difficult! Oh my indeed! You have the Dubai Water Fountains..Had a really good Lebanese restaurant that you can sit, have great food and then shisha whilst looking at the splendour of water being sprayed into the air to music....

Please do go desert bashing with a sunset over the dunes. Unless you are experienced in thrashing the hell out of a Nissan Patrol, Pajero (Shogun Here) or Toyota Land Cruiser over dunes and other uneven terrain, I would strongly advise you let a professional do it. I did a sunset one, and it really was beautiful watching the sunset over the dunes...

If you have time - Fuck Dubai and go to Muscat (Musquat)!! At least you get a little more feel for culture, food and actually how lovely Arabs are. and I love Musqat as a personal and life long destination

You know the drill if you have lived in Qatar. Tourists are tolerated in Dubai as it is their main source of income as well as trying to get more companies and business to set up shop there. When I say tolerated, I really mean it. I know Dubai old as well as new and each time I visit Dubai or Abu Dhabi I am shocked at how far they have let themselves go in terms of what they tolerate. Mainly drink in the only places you can (hotels) and if you want to consume personally, you typically have to have a license to do so. The police are always around and what is tolerated can be taken away in a heart beat.

My favourite conservation in Dubai was with a taxi driver that a beard as long as a Komodo Dragen...Anyhow, I asked him what he though of Dubai and he informed me it is disgusting. A whore house of the Middle East.....From looking at the talent in said hotel bars...It is not disgusting

The three C's..........Cool, calm and collected, at all times. I will be quite now.
