Especially if you want to pay way over the top for a cigar and a drink

Okay...no one with us bought a cigar there, we brought our own, and just had a drink or two.

If that was a problem, why didn't anyone say anything beforehand? I'm new here, man - I don't know what's within people's budgets or anything, honestly.

Most of those places have a minimum spend which can be a problem for non drinkers which is why JJ and 1a are so popular but of course they're daytime venues.

I think when people read about the minimum spend thing they're over thinking it, it's more like a "don't take the piss policy"

To be fair, it's hard to comment on the budget of others.... I'm in your boat at the moment, plus it would cost me the best part of ?100 just to get there and back.
